Indang Luring, studio portrait taken in Pampanga, circa 1936
"Your picture will sweeten my happiness...with
my new life - in a way our friendship ever
pleases me at your presence." Wrote her cousin
Lucia, urging her to have her portrait taken
and send it to her where she eloped to marry her
sweetheart. They grow up close together like
twins.

Luring lost her mother when she was born, who
died during childbirth. Her half-sister nursed her.
And nurtured and cared for by her father and half-
sister - who were living in their father's household
with her own family - until she was removed at a
young age to live with her oldest sister and family...
taking care of her small nephews and niece with
Lucia, an orphan relative who was adopted there.

Soon thereafter Luring married a young, new college
graduate. They had 10 children and several
grandchildren when she passed away at 62, of
complication after surgery.

Lucia, who was widowed at age 40 with 3 small
children...carried on to bring up her own children alone,
passed away, a few months later at age 65.
